Scholarship offer of the province of Lower Austria

Within the framework of this scholarship program, study or research stays abroad are supported in a variety of ways, retraining and higher qualifications within the framework of university studies are to be facilitated, there are scholarships for topic-specific theses (e.g. master's theses with reference to Lower Austria) and, in addition, students can receive performance scholarships for special academic achievements. In addition, outstanding young scientists are to be supported within the framework of international study and research stays. Students and graduates of the Karl Landsteiner Private University for Health Sciences can also be supported within the framework of various types of funding.

Women in Technology

The aim is to support female students who are pursuing a regular bachelor full-time first degree program in a technical field, which is funded by AMS Lower Austria within the framework of the program "Women in Technology".

Career

The aim is to support registered students in their first degree program (bachelor's degree with 180 ECTS credits and subsequent master's degree with 120 ECTS credits) who are already established as specialists in a company and who gain a higher qualification for the benefit of the company through their studies.

Achievement

Funding for registered students who have COMPLETED a first degree program (bachelor's, master's or doctoral/PhD program) at an Austrian higher education institution with excellent results and whose maximum age at the time of application does not exceed 35 years.

Excellence scholarships

Here, two different types of funding are offered, depending on the progress in the academic career:

Support for registered students in Bachelor's, Master's or doctoral/PhD studies at a university of excellence abroad (assessment on a case-by-case basis with consideration of international university rankings) and outstanding personal suitability based on excellent school or study results, available references from specialist professors and possibly other special achievements (e.g. honorary commitment).

The entire course of study must be successfully completed abroad and the maximum age must not have exceeded 35 years at the time of application.

Funding for persons residing in Lower Austria or otherwise related to Lower Austria who already hold a doctorate or PhD degree, can provide evidence of at least 2 years of post-doctoral research activity and present a current invitation from a renowned foreign research institute.

The aim is to support researchers during a research stay abroad.

Karl Landsteiner Scholarships

Students at Karl Landsteiner Private University are supported by a differentiated scholarship system: a social scholarship amounting to 25 or 80 percent of the tuition fees, an achievement scholarship for outstanding academic performance, and a bonus for graduates who work as physicians in Lower Austria after completing their studies.

Other scholarships

100 Years of Lower Austria
 The 100 Years of Lower Austria special scholarship supports master’s theses that deal with the cultural, educational and/or sociopolitical or democratic development of Lower Austria over the past 100 years or that are relevant to the future development of Lower Austria in these fields. Within the framework of the special scholarship, master’s theses are supported with 1,500 euros. The prerequisite for receipt is that the master’s thesis is submitted as part of a course of study at an Austrian college or university in 2022 or 2023 and is assessed with the grades “very good” or “good.”

Achievement
Ordinary students who have completed a first degree program (bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral/PhD program) at an Austrian university with excellent results can receive an achievement scholarship.

Topic-specific theses (e.g. master’s theses related to Lower Austria or theses related to environment, energy & climate) are the focus here and can be supported with a scholarship if all required criteria are met.

Individual special scholarships

The Province of Lower Austria awards individual special scholarships for individual cases that are particularly worthy of consideration (hardship cases).

Lower Austrian Nursing Training Bonus

The Lower Austrian Nursing Training Bonus is a grant for nursing training and is currently handled by GFF NÖ for the province of Lower Austria.

GFF NÖ is the contact for applicants. The online submission platform is available immediately, an application is possible from 1.9.2022.
