Brief summary:

Studys focus is on neuropsychological hand side on spatail cognition and executive functions, morphometrically on the responsible brain regions dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, thalamus, hypothalamus, basal ganglia, prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Manipulating more complex spatial stimuli seem to be complex executive functions which show functional deficits when lesion of frontal lobe, lesion of basal ganglia and/or thalamus are present. This is to be shown within a clinical sample in comparison to a healthy reference sample via neuropsychological assessment and MR-Imaging and MR-Spectroscopy, to generate therapy-relevant basic-research-data. Additionally the sample of inpatients has an assessment of cortisol-blood-level on three measurement points. Cortisol-blood level is proposed to be augmented when blood-alcohol-concentration-level is hightened for a longer period of time, reducing hippocampus-volume and its inherent mnestic performances.
